geeese

there once was a man, lets call him Bob, that lived not too far from toronto. about a few hours drive north. in a land not so different from Canada.. in a place not too different from waterloo campus where canadian geese ravage the lands at every corner.

well, perhaps not ravage. cause that only happens at waterloo. but there were geese. so if you live in waterloo, i’m sure you can picture this. so back to the man…

one winter. if you can even call it that. the place didn’t receive any snow at all. it was warm when it should’ve been cold. it was wet when there should’ve been snow. and there were geese when there should’ve been….. well just barren land..

but this didn’t concern many people. just Bob. cause he just heard on the forecast there would be a sudden flash snowstorm about to hit the area. and in light of this news he thought about the geese. the geese who were totally unaware of their impending doom. so he thought what would be the best way to get them to migrate…

and his first thoughts were to go and just use body gestures and try to get them to migrate. but he figured it would be too hard for the geese to interpret what he was trying to tell them.

so he wished he was able to talk geese, to tell them about the storm that was coming. so they could understand him. but he thought, they could just think I’m lying. or misinterpret what I was saying.

so finally he wished that he could just become a geese and lead them down south to avoid the storm. to become one of them in order to effectively communicate.
(note: analogy taken with ad libs ..)

how the story ends is up to you, cause its not important.. but what i’ve come to realize during Christmas is that God sent his only son to die for us. Why? So he could save us. So he could remove this impending doom lingering around our lives. I mean he could’ve used clouds to spell it out in the sky for us. Or even just talk ‘human’ and hope we understand. but his ultimate method of communicating to us was through Jesus Christ himself.

to communicate through a human. so that we could understand. just like how the man wanted to transform into a geese to save them. i was meaning to post this on christmas day, but it was all too hectic, but one thing I don’t really do is reflect on the sacrifice God gave us. to realize how well thought out, how well planned and important it is to me.

so next time you see geese, be reminded of Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas. hope boxing day was successful for most of you

thanksgiving

felt like i owed ppl big thanks. another term has come and gone, with each passing term going by faster and faster. it kinda seems surreal that the dreaded four months of 2B that should have haunted my every minute of my sleep, turned out to be quite the pleasant experience.

ontop of passing with a higher average than 2A, i got to grow alot spiritually, and walk and serve with God in new ways. its been a really enjoyable. kinda wish i had an 8month term, but no point in wishing for it when i get one my last year. just hope that doesn’t come as fast as i think.

so in the spirit of giving and saying thanks, here goes..

thanks pt for teaching me so much at sunday school about God and pointing me in the right direction when i need an answer, you really made sunday school… a pretty enticing place to lure me away from school work. although, i don’t really come off as a person that has appreciated it a lot and you may not know it. but you do so much more than what is required. its amazing, your dedication and commitment is truly inspiring.

chiz for taking the initiative to spur us along when things are slowing down, and just for your opinions and thoughts that dont always agree with mine. but i’m glad that we have good talks and for giving me a new perspective all the time.

hm.. nathan thanks for all the random times you’ve come and talked with me, and shared and well just for being a brother to me. thanks for making everything more funny than it really is, your gift of laughter is AWESOME! haha i wish i could laugh all the time like you do. :)

thanks derky for being such a straight up brother in christ. for being able to be honest and to talk. thanks for not beating around the bush although sometimes you clip one too many things.. but we had fun. yeye for next term

hehe thanks jamie for being so caring and having random stupid talks with me. and for smashing and reading my mind. for studying with me! aha if you were a girl we’d probably be the best match hahah.. but thanks

thanks bern for making class less boring! for wasting away our class time talking in fluids, circuits. thanks for being someone to chitchat about random topics. for being the girl in the house. it was a good term, even though it was 2B. for being able to challenge me in my dimwitted ways. for reminding me where i need to change. (today is a 9)

.. thanks to committee for really sticking it together till the end, working through all the rough and fun times.

thanks jackal for being such a responsible older brother in Christ. to be able to look after the fellowship and take everything personally. for taking the fellowship to be like your own family. sometimes taking offense to things that you shouldn’t only shows how much you care about the fellowship. and I thank you for that. i thank you for your generosity and your ability to consider everybody’s feeling. to be able to live and learn and to always help us out, even when it doesn’t really have anything in return for yourself. its a gift that i see in you. thanks for teaching me so many lessons, even though you may not know it.

carson, thanks for all the wonderful memories you’ve given us this term. thanks for being a honest and straight up brother, to be able to share whats on your mind. and to help cheer others up, even when you may not be feeling at your best. for always putting God first, showing us what a big heart you have. it’s something that I admire, and I thank you for your crazy support in CCF. even in committee. thank you even though it was tough, hope you may continue to live out what you believe and let God replenish you!

clar, thanks for being such an awesome reminder of what it means to share and fellowship in the presence of one another. to pray and to be strong and persistent. you taught me how to be responsible for the gifts God has given me. thanks for all the good times, and food-ing on campus. the random good talks and the fun sharing we’ve had about topics… well topics (smile) thanks for really being transparent as well. its so hard to really communicate properly and you’ve helped me realize how to do that better. kinda fitting for you to be in comm.

jo, thanks for being such a supportive and caring sister in Christ. for all the times we’ve just sat in prayer meetings sharing and praying. it was a wonderful term, and i dont think it would’ve been the same if you didn’t make it there. thanks for waking up! i know its a huge challenge for you, but thank you. thank you for planning all the programs. i know you put alot of work into it, and it may not be the most appreciated position. but i thank you for doing all the logistics and all the nitty gritty things. thanks thanks thanks! kinda sucks we’re gonna be offstream for like a year, but thanks for all the small things you’ve taught me. you’re such an engineering girl! haha i’d bet you have a higher average than i.. =p.

tammyy and moo… (aka the DL’s) thanks for making this term enjoyable. and writing and leading bible studies enjoyable as well. it has been a crazy learning experience. and a great way to experience God together. i admit, it was tough to begin. but our last few bible studies and meetings were always to productive and insightful. i’m really glad to have served with you guys. tammy thanks for the challenges you bring to the table, to be able to bring another point of view to push us. thanks for your unique sense of humour that only a select few can appreciate. thanks for being a awesome supportive brother or sister to others, even when they may not know it. to be able to drop everything your doing for other.. so crazy. (thanks for being a be-leaf-ing).. – mooo thanks for your crazy logical mind. i guess thats why you’re in engineering too. everything is logical in your mind, just doesn’t translate into spoken english. but i understand you, haha. but its so good. thanks for being such an optimist. for putting God first. for being able to just put ppl first. even before yourself. thats such a hard thing to do, and you’re a crazyily good at it. even though its stinky– its worth it.

jorge, thanks for doing so much even on your term off. thanks for helping the fellowship in ways more than we can imagine. I hope that you’re able to get some time to yourself to relax a bit. thanks for always washing and making food, even though you dont have to. thanks for taking the initiative. for being an example of what it means to be a servant of Christ. I’ve learned alot from you, and I just wish I had the time now to say it to you in person. thanks!

froshies! thanks for making it out to mcDougall so often. it was so nice to have met so many of you and to see you grow and to come to fit into a fellowship. for being able to remind myself to continually improve and strive towards higher goals. thanks for all the great laughs and awesome fun times. i know its a long walk, but we really love seeing you over. at least i do.

bible study leaders, thanks for making it out for prestudy. we can’t have bible studies without you! thank you for giving up your time to help us lead, to come and learn and to comment. i wish everybody could make it out to prestudy, but you guys really made our prep work worth it. really motivated us to continue going. thanks!

trust

in all that you do, trust that God is good.

and that God will carry you through. never doubt, but have complete faith.

exams are around the corner, and know that God will honor those, who honor Him.
