Often times, evangelism or outreach is exactly what this picture depicts – a crazy mix of uncertainty and fear. It’s crippling. Majority of us, Christians, don’t even think about outreach. And an even larger percentage of us have the wrong picture of what Jesus’ commission really means to our daily lives.
It has become increasingly harder to actively declare one’s faith in the modern day age of freedom and equality. And a lot of the times people (myself included) don’t even know where to start. I think a lot of Christians have become comfortable in ignoring this calling, or at least has not fully grasped the weight of evangelism. More…
(So Jo introduced me to Marie Digby, and now I listen to her stuff way too much)
I was naive not to let you go when the time was right
I was a fool living in a dream that I thought could last
But I know that you will try to prove me wrong
But it’s what I’ve got to do
I think you’re mistaken, I’m sorry to say
I’m really just a loser who’s getting in your way
I think you’ve forgotten, all of your plans
See you never meant to be here
And I think you should know
You’re better off alone
And it’s clear to me that everything has changed
Cuz nothing that we do feels the same any more
And I’ll admit, I’ll take the blame
Maybe we just moved too fast
And how could expect something like this to last
And I know that you will try and prove me wrong
But it’s what I gotta do
I think you’re mistaken, I’m sorry to say
I’m really just a loser who’s getting in your way
I think you’ve forgotten all of your plans
See you never meant to be here and I think you should know
You’re better off alone
You and I, we were standing watching us fall apart
So let me go and move along
I think you’re mistaken, I’m sorry to say
I’m really just a loser who’s getting in your way
I think you’ve forgotten all of your plans
See I never meant to be here and I think you should know
You’re better off alone

You called my name, reached out your hand,
Restored my life, and I was redeemed,
The moment you entered my life,
Amazing grace, Christ gave that day,
My life was changed,
Went from my shoulders, fell the weight of my sin
So it’s with everything I am,
I reach out for your hand,
The hope that changed a second chance I’ve gained, On you I throw my life, casting all my fears aside,
How could greater love then this, ever possibly exist
Consume my thoughts, as I rest in you,
I’m now in love, with a Saviour,
Bearing the marks of his love
So I wait upon you now,
With my hands released to you,
Where a little faiths enough,
To see mountains lifted move,
Yeah and I wait upon you now,
Dedicated to your will,
To this love that will remain,
A love that never fails
